INGREDIENTS OF MORPHEME REMEDIES HAND WASH

Each ingredient of Morpheme Remedies Hand Wash has been carefully chosen to give you the best possible hand hygiene.

    1. SHEA BUTTER

Excellent Moisturizer: Shea Butter is obtained from the kernels of shea tree. It contains triglycerides with a rich content of fatty acids, but what makes it an ideal cosmetic ingredient is the high percentage of tocopherol, phenols, triterpenes, and sterols, all of which display powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that benefit the skin. Shea Butter is touted as an excellent moisturizer and is often used as a super-fatting agent in making extra-moisturizing soaps and cleansers. It is particularly beneficial for dry and mature skin.

Backed by Science: The moisturizing quality of Shea Butter has been acknowledged by science as well. In a study, 35 female subjects with sensitive skin were given a cosmetic containing Shea Butter for topical application twice a day for about three weeks. Not only did Shea Butter moisturize the sensitive skin, it was very well tolerated and showed no adverse action on any of the participants.

Potent Healer: Apart from a moisturizing ingredient, Shea Butter is also an impressive healer. While seed oils usually have the healing component of 1% or even less, Shea Butter’s healing element ranges from 5% to 17%, making it effective against dry and irritated skin conditions.

    2. COCONUT OIL

Degreasing Agent: Coconut Oil is a staple of liquid soaps and hand washes because of the presence of lauric acid, which is a fatty acid gifted with the great quality of solubility. Easy solubility lends a quick and voluminous lather to soap (5). Apart from this fabulous foaming action, coconut oil also acts as a degreasing agent. It aids in removing greasy impurities from the hands

Backed by Science: Coconut Oil is also a good ingredient to moisturize your hands. This hydrating action of coconut oil was observed in a study conducted on 34 patients with dry, rough, scaly and itchy skin. Topical application of coconut oil, twice a day for two weeks, resulted in significant improvement in skin hydration and also led to an increase in lipid levels on skin surface. Additionally, coconut oil was found to be absolutely safe for use on the skin.

    3. ALOE VERA GEL

Wonderful Healer: Aloe Vera gel is derived from the serrated leaves of the namesake plant. It is often described as a wonderful healing additive in soap manufacturing because of its ability to soothe the sensitive skin. It is loaded with vitamins, minerals, sugars, enzymes and phenolic compounds that lend it powerful antioxidant, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and skin-hydrating properties.

Great Moisturizer: Aloe Vera’s great moisturizing quality has been observed scientifically. In a study conducted on 20 female subjects, Aloe Vera was topically applied on the forearms for a period of two weeks. The study found that Aloe Vera increased the water content of the outermost dermal layer and can be an effective natural ingredient for improving skin hydration.

Relieves Itching: Besides moisturizing, Aloe Vera is also known to provide relief from itching. Being rich in vitamins B1, B2, B6, B12 and C, it helps make the skin soft and healthy.

    4. NEEM OIL

Germ Protection: Neem Oil is extracted from the seeds of the neem tree and has traditionally been used for many purposes. As an ingredient in soaps and hand washes, Neem Oil has an antiseptic action on the skin. Neem Oil shows powerful anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-viral properties to protect your skin from harmful microbes.

Healthy Skin: Neem Oil contains fatty acids, vitamin E, triglycerides and calcium. The essential fatty acids enable neem oil to penetrate deep into the skin and repair the minute cracks caused by severe dryness. Neem oil is known to promote collagen production for better skin health, and vitamin E in it protects from the harmful effects of free radicals. Besides protecting and healing, Neem Oil helps make the skin soft and supple.

    5. VITAMIN E

Powerful Antioxidant: As an ingredient in soaps and cleansers, Vitamin E shows a healing action against burns and scrapes. It is an exceptional antioxidant and also a natural preservative. When topically applied, Vitamin E accumulates in cell membranes and extracellular lipid matrix of the outermost dermal layer to protect the skin against the damaging effect of free radicals. Thanks to its anti-inflammatory property, vitamin E also comes handy in reducing UV-induced skin thickness.

Moisturizer: Vitamins E contains tocopherols or tocotrienols which are known for their moisturizing qualities. It has been scientifically found to improve the water binding capacity of stratum corneum, the external layer of our skin. In a study conducted to compare the moisturizing effect of vitamin E with other ingredients, the tocopherols were found to be the best in promoting skin hydration.

    6. GLYCERIN

Humectant: Glycerin is an effective humectant, which helps reduce the loss of moisture from the skin. A by-product of soap making, it is derived from fats and oils and helps condition the skin when applied topically. Its water-regulating ability makes it a choice ingredient in cosmetic formulations.

Backed by Science: Glycerin’s moisturizing potential has been studied scientifically. In a study conducted on 17 healthy volunteers, topical application of glycerin for 10 days led to a significant increase in skin hydration.
